My professional career began as a Carpenter and became involved in rowing over 40 years ago and have obtained valuable experience in the sport, not only as an Oarsman but also as a Coach.
During this time I have also been employed as a Boatman and Equipment manager for the British Rowing Team, and carried out crucial duties alongside some of the leading athletes in the country at the time.
In later years I moved to Concept2 as their on-site Oar Technician covering International and Olympic Regattas and also Henley Royal Regatta regularly for a number of years.
My role at Concept2 also included being responsible for the assembly and set up of new racing oars as a mobile serviceman covering the UK, also providing on site repair work at boathouses, rowing clubs and regattas.
This variety of experience led me to go fully independent as The Oar Doctor in 2009, and now based in Northwich, Cheshire, conveniently situated very close to Acton Bridge on the River Weaver within easy access from the M6 and M56 motorways.
